We proudly acknowledge the following Corporate Friends whose ongoing support is critical to our continued success.

The Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation has set up special containers in more than 200 bottle depots in the province to collect plastic bottle caps as part of their "Caps Off for Kids " program. The collected caps will be sold as scrap with the proceeds being donated to The Rainbow Society. Only beverage container plastic caps are accepted. Be sure to check with your local bottle depot as not all of them are able to collect the caps. The ABCRC is committed to the success of the Caps Off For Kids program.
Caps can also be dropped off at either of the ABCRC main plants:
9455-45 Ave Edmonton (780 435-1395) or
3617 Ogden Road SE Calgary (403 264-0170)
For more information on how your school or office can get involved collecting caps, call ABCRC directly at 1 800 267-413 or email them at capsoff@abcrc.com

For 2011, Westjet has come on board by donating a total of six free flights - two each for Northern, Central and Southern Regions for our regional raffles in support of The rainbow Society's 25th anniversary celebrations! Proceeds will be used to assist in our commemorative efforts and to further fund wishes for a child with a dream!

When Kobbie Larbi, General Manager at Travelodge Calgary University contacted Debbie Van Camp at The Rainbow Society looking for a way to help, it was decided that the Travelodge Teddy Bear was a world-renowned symbol of Travelodge; therefore, selling bears was a natural fit. For over 1 1/2 years the Travelodge Calgary University has been selling Rainbow Bears and donating all monies back to the society. To date, the Travelodge has sold close to 300 bears. Thank you for your support!

Harley Davidson Grande Prairie is a huge supporter of The Rainbow Society. Shaun Rude and his staff have gone out of their way to help us with our Harley Davidson motorcycle raffle. They willingly donated their time, energy and resources to move the bike between venues, spent hours with us picking the right bike and helped sponsor the raffle. They also support and sponsor our June Charity Classic golf tournament as well as our Women Fore Wishes golf tournament. Our hats/helmets are off to Harley Davidson Grande Prairie! |

Our thanks to Gibson Energy for their continued support of the Teddy Bear Toss. For several years Gibson Energy has purchased Bear Paks from The Rainbow Society. The initiative started by selling 300 bears ten years ago, to 5500 bears in 2010.

Doug Marshall Motor City Ltd has been a major supporter of The Rainbow Society for the past 10 years. Dale Tookey and the staff at Doug Marshall have gone out of their way to help and support making wishes come true. They are title sponsor at our June Charity Golf Classic golf tournament and are a major sponsor for the Women Fore Wishes tournament in September.
Their staff are involved by serving on the golf committee and in helping at the tournament. The staff at Doug Marshall Motor City sold tickets for our Harley Davidson Motorcycle raffle and the Playhouse raffle in 2008.
Dale graciously lets our staff use the Doug Marshall board room for all of our meetings. It would be hard to imagine The Rainbow Society without the support of Doug Marshall Motor City.

For several years, Maillot Homes has given a child of The Rainbow Society their dream. The people at Maillot Homes understand how precious dreams are - they make them come true for their home owners every day.
Last year, with the generous support of both Maillot Homes and their friends at the Christmas party sponsored wish #743, a seven year old girl diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositits, an illness that affects her kidneys. She wishes for her family to go to Disney. We thank all the people at Maillot Homes for their generosity, especially Adrian and Elsie Maillot for their continued support! |

The United Nurses of Alberta have been supporting The Rainbow Society for many years. We are proud to welcome them as title sponsor of this year's Rainbow Gala in October. Starting May 21 2007, the United Nurses of Alberta have sponsored a number of vignettes airing on the Global network throughout Alberta. These spots will feature six of our wish children, and how having their wishes granted made a difference in their lives. This is something that we never would have been able to do without the help of the UNA. Our thanks to all the UNA members, staff and executive for making this promotion possible!

The United Nurses of Alberta Local 301 (University of Alberta Hospital) has been involved with The Rainbow Society for more years than we can admit to remembering! What started out as a SNAA (Staff Nurses Association of Alberta) fun-run, morphed into a downtown bed race, and then became the very popular Rainbow Gala in 1998.
The commitment from Local 301 members shows up in countless volunteer hours and financial support used in producing the Rainbow Gala. Betty Ann Emery (Local 301 president) is currently our Director of Wishes and was our Volunteer of the Year for 2008. Teresa Caldwell (Local 301 vice president) works with Betty Ann to ensure every production of the Gala is a huge success. Many hours are also donated by Ros Gullickson, Linda Brockmann, Marion McKenznie, Marie Therese Mageau and other 301 members every year. We salute all of you for your dedication!

Third Party Events and Sponsors
Many companies donate funds to us from their golf tournaments, Christmas parties or similar events. Please contact us
and we can provide support at your event, and speak to your members. Here are some of the many generous corporate donors working with us this year:
- Aquatera in Grande Prairie collected $6,154.00 worth of bottles on our behalf in July of 2010. Read more about their charity recycling program at the ECO Centre. Our thanks to all of the Aquatera employees that helped out!
- Alison Neuman graduated with her diploma in Professional Writing and Bachelor of Applied Communications Degree . Inspiration struck near the end of her studies and she began her first draft of Ice Rose, the story of a dancer who in an explosion loses the use of her legs and finds her parents are secret agents. Alison's love of music, performing, flying, and the secrect agent genre tip-toed into her characters. She lives in Alberta, Canada, where she is a creative lyricist and freelance writer for her business, Sandy Tree Communications.
In 1989, The Rainbow Society of Alberta fulfilled Alison's wish and with her Mom and Aunt, she journeyed to Disneyland in California. They were immersed in magic and reminded wishes really do come true, something reality and circumstances do not always give children a chance to realize. In the nineties, she held a fundraiser, "A Concert of Hope - Kids Helping Kids", to raise some funds and nurture an opportunity for another child, via The Rainbow Society of Alberta, to fulfill his/her dreams. The event was a success but left her wanting to do more. With her book launch approaching, she is excited the event can also be an opportunity to give back. On Saturday September 18, 2010, she will launch Ice Rose. Through book sales and a silent auction, she will raise funds for a charity that has touched her heart. To be selected to receive invitations to the book launch please contact The Rainbow Society of Alberta. You are welcome to learn more about Alison at www.alisonneuman.ca
Ice Rose - A teenager's world is turned upside down with an explosion steals her dad and her identity. Entering an exclusive academy that immerses her in the world of secret agents, she must overcome her fears and disabilities to discover the truth about her dad's mission, his software, and the mystery man stalking her before she end us up like her father - lost.
- We've been running our Pillow Pledge Program for the last year as part of our overall wish enhancement program. Participants have the opportunity to pledge a travel-sized pillow for a wish child, which is gifted to them, along with a volunteer-sewn pillow case, as part of their wish package. In the past, we have had to purchase the pillow forms but are happy to announce, and acknowledge, Maureen Krell and Fabricland for their very generous donation of 75 pillow forms. Their thoughtfulness will ensure we can continue to run the enhancement program and we know our current and future wish children will be as appreciative as we are. Thank you, Fabricland!
- With one full time and one part time person working for The Rainbow Society in Calgary, it was music to our ears to hear that Elite Fleet Courier wanted to become our courier sponsor. This service will save us a lot of time and dollars. Next time you need a pick up or delivery in Calgary be sure to call Elite Fleet!
- For the past few years, The Rainbow Society of Alberta has been the recipient of two classic golf tournaments. The Makin' Hole and Best in Class golf tournaments in Calgary. Collectively these two tournaments have raised enough money to grant 14 wishes!! The following wishes were granted thanks to the generosity of these tournaments: #636 to meet Jeff Gordon, #642 horse Camp in Arizona, #584 Disney cruise, #686 TV and entertainment center, #706 Hawaii, #716 Blue Jays game, #719 taping of Deal or No Deal, #614 Pyrenees puppy, 5 trips to Disney and #715 Mediterranean cruise. Thank you to all of the golfers and especially Al Omotani for continuing to see the value of our program.
- It takes many hands to make a dream come true. Calgary Properties Lions Club members have volunteered for The Rainbow Society casinos and donated funds to make wishes come true. In 201 they sponsored Wish #869: an 11 year old girl diagnosed with Down Syndrome was given the wrong blood transfusion which stopped her heart and caused brain damage. She now spends a lot of time in bed and loves to listen to Disney movie music on her large screen television. Thanks to the Lions who serve our community!
- The Edmonton Z Car Club is a non-profit society dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Nissan and Datsun Z sports cars and other Nissan/Datsun automobiles. The Edmonton Z Car Club organizes and hosts various events throughout the year, including car shows, group drives to various locations in Alberta, Christmas or event parties and several auto related tech sessions. Since 1999, the club has donated over $5300 to The Rainbow Society from part entry fee proceeds from their annual Z Club Show & Shine and member donations. Thank you so much for your continued support!
