Calgary Hitmen and Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss
DetailsLast year's Annual Teddy Bear Toss was a huge success thanks to the partnerships The Rainbow Society has with Petro-Canada, the Calgary Hitmen, the Salvation Army Toy Mountain and CHFM. December 13, 2009 was once again a sold out Calgary Hitmen game and after they scored during the first period, there were over 16,000 bears thrown on the ice. These teddy bears are donated to Toy Mountain, a project of the Salvation Army, ensuring disadvantaged children recieve a teddy bear at Christmas. The Alberta Children's Hospital and other Calgary children's charities will benefit as well. The Rainbow Society of Alberta raised over $24,000 in corporate sponsorships and bear sales for much-needed funds and underprivileged Calgary children receive a teddy bear to cuddle at Christmas. The Rainbow Society is so proud to be a part of this great partnership! Thank you to our 2009 sponsors of the teddy bear program:
A big thank you also goes out to all of our dedicated volunteers. Without their help, we would not have been able to make the 2009 Teddy Bear Toss such a great event!
